About iDesign
Learning should be shaped with intention.
That takes collaboration with educators, with organizations, with the people closest to the work.
And it stays rooted in the reason teaching matters in the first place: the learner.
Before founding iDesign, our leaders worked in early iterations of online program management—think OPM 1.0. Working with institutions of every size and shape, they saw a fundamental mismatch: instructional design isn't one-size-fits-all, but the industry was selling it that way.
That was the lightbulb moment for Paxton Riter, Whitney Kilgore, and Ned Stone. In 2013, they started iDesign on a different premise: a company built on candor, autonomy, and transparency, with a faculty-centric approach focused on quality course delivery and student learning outcomes. In less than a decade, iDesign became the leader of the OPM 2.0 movement.
Our partnerships extend far beyond course design. We come in as strategic partners—working alongside organizations to rethink their teaching approach, refine their program structure, and prepare for what's next in learning. Every team member's goal is to be seen as a colleague by the end of a project. Every time we hear "you're not a vendor, you're a partner," we know we're on the right track.
